Danger! | Danger of injury to eyes from steering oil emerging at high pressure. Danger of poisoning from swallowing steering oil | Unscrew end limit screws maximum 5 turns. Wear safety glasses. | |
3 | Detach protective cap (2) | ||
4 | Connect tester to test connection (3) | ||
Danger! | Risk of accident caused by vehicle starting off by itself when engine is running. Risk of injury caused by contusions and burns when working in engine during starting procedure | Secure vehicle to prevent it from moving. | |
5 | Start engine and run at idling speed | ||
6 | Read off operating pressure on tester | | |
7 | Fit thrust piece on the left steering stop of the front axle | | |
8 | Turn the steering wheel counterclockwise | Turn the steering wheel against the left steering stop until a pressure of 10 bar over the operating pressure appears on the tester. | |

9 | Release the steering wheel and observe the display on the tester | The pressure must drop to the operating pressure within a second. The pressure read off on the tester must be a maximum of 0.5 bar over the operating pressure determined in step 6. | |

10 | Repeat work steps 7 to 9 for the clockwise steering angle | ||
11 | Turn off engine | ||
12 | Detach tester from test connection (3) | ||
