Remove
1 Remove the bolts (1 to 13).
2 Remove the membrane housing cover (A).
3 Clean the sealing surface in the retarder housing and the retarder's membrane housing cover (A).

Install
4 Install the threaded dowel M10 (15) on the left and right upper threaded bore.
5 Install a new sealing gasket (14).

6 Place the membrane housing cover (A) over the retarder housing.
The bolts must be tightened according to the sequence described below.
7 Install bolts (1, 2, 3, 5 and 7 through 13) manually.
8 Tighten bolt (1) manually.
9 Tighten bolt (2) to the specified initial torque .
10 Tighten bolt (1) to the specified initial torque .
11 Tighten bolt (3) to the specified final torque .
12 Remove the threaded dowel M10 (15) and tighten bolts (4, 6).
13 Tighten bolts (4, 5, 6, 7, 8) in the indicated sequence up to the specified final torque .
14 Tighten bolt (9) to the specified final torque .
15 Tighten bolt (2) to the specified final torque .
16 Tighten bolts (10, 11, 12, 13) in the indicated sequence up to the specified torque .
17 Tighten bolt (1) to the specified final torque .
