Set auxiliary brake actuation lever to position "0"

Turn off ignition

Remove the proportional valve (14Y05) with damping plate (9)

Remove cover (7) screws (6)

Remove the cover (7) with the gasket seal (8)

Remove ventilation valve (1)

Remove the float (4) and the float holder (5)

Remove the O-ring (3) from the valve seat (2)

Check the air inlet and outlet valve

Install

Install the O-ring (3) onto the valve seat (2)

 Install a new O-ring (3) and apply long-term grease.

Lightly grease the ventilation valve housing on the retarder housing (10)

Insert the float (4) into the float holder (5)

Install valve seat (2) onto the float holder (5)

 Check float (4) in the air inlet and outlet valve assembly (1) for free movement.

Insert the air inlet and outlet valve (1) into the retarder housing (10)

Install the cover (7) with a gasket seal (8) and tighten the screws (6)

Bolting on upper oil reservoir cover

Install the proportional valve (14Y05) with damping plate (9)

Remove/install proportioning valve
