Test the coupling nozzle

Test the coupling nozzle

B42.60-0251-12

1 - Accessories of test stand

V1 = Pressure reducing valve of the bench supply circuit

V2 = Pressure regulator valve of the test circuit

M5 = Indicator pressure gauge of the bench supply with divisions 0.2 bar.

(1); (3) = Connections for test

R25 = 25 liters tank of the bench supply circuit

R1 = 1 liter tank of the test circuits

T1; T4; T7; T9; T12; T14 = Records (cock plug)

M1; M3 = Pressure gauges with divisions 0.2 bar of the test circuits

K = Coupling nozzle to be tested

K1 = Counter part for test

2 - Visual check

Check the coupling nozzle regarding outer damages.

3 - Assemble the coupling nozzle in bench with respective counter part

Connect the coupling nozzle K in bench connection (1) so that it can be handled.

Assemble counter part K1 in bench and connect it in bench connection (3).

4 - Preparing for the test

Open records T7; T9; T10; T12; T14 and close others. Adjust the pressure via valve V1 to 10 bar in bench supply circuit. Note the pressure of supply in pressure gauge M5.

Apply 8 bar in coupling nozzle K via regulator valve V2.

Connect and disconnect the coupling nozzle K in counter part K1 from 10 to 12 times to ensure accommodation of the components.

5 - Test the leak

Connect the coupling nozzle K in counter part K1. Pressure gauges M1 and M3 should show 0 (zero) bar.

Actuate valve V2 and apply pressure in coupling nozzle K, at the same time at degrees from 1 to 2 bar, up to pressure gauge M3 shows 8 bar. Use foam mild soap every stage applied pressure and check for leaks at the coupling nozzle and counter part.

If there is any leak, disassemble the nozzle and replace the faulty components. If the leak has been caused by the counter part, replace it.

6 - Testing the working

Coupling:

Reduce pressure to 0 (zero) bar via valve V2.

Connect and disconnect the coupling nozzle K in counter part K1, twice to three times, checking the ease of coupling and perfect locking when it is connected.

Air passage:

With coupling nozzle K disconnected, apply 8 bar in circuit, noting the pressure in pressure gauge M1.

Connect the coupling nozzle K in counter part K1. In 0.5 seconds the pressure passage should be indicated via pressure gauge M3.

Turn off the valve V2 and reduce the pressure in circuit at 0 (zero) bar.

Safety against wrong couplings:

Caution:

A coupling nozzle for "Service" (yellow) should only be connected in its respective counter part of "Service".

Repeat it with coupling nozzle for "Emergency" (red), it should only be connected in its respective counter part of "Emergency".

Otherwise the connection is not possible. Check the impossibility of connecting the coupling nozzles in counter part of different pairs.

7 -Remove the coupling nozzle and respective counter part from the test stand

Disconnect the coupling nozzle K and counter part K1 from the test stand connections.

Close the coupling nozzles gantries with suitable caps.
