1 - Test bench accessories
D = Pressure reducing valve
FN1 = Pressure regulating valve (fine adjustment) with discharge to atmosphere
V = Manometer indicating the bench supply pressure
1; 3 = Manometers indicating pressure with 0,1 bar cuts and capacity of up to 16 bar
1L = Air reservoir with capacity for 1 liter
20L = Air reservoir with capacity for 20 liters
C; V; 3 = Cocks
(1); (3) = Quick connect fittings available on the test bench
2 - Visual check
Check the valve for external damage.
3 - Connect the valve on the test bench
Install the angle measuring device, mount the valve onto the bench as per the corresponding diagram and plug:
— Quick connect fitting 1 of the test bench to port 1 (V1).
— Quick connect fitting 3 of the test bench to port 2 (2A).
Actuate the reducing valve D and apply 10 bar to the bench supply circuit. Watch the pressure on manometer V.
Fully actuate valve FN1 until manometer 1 of circuit 1 indicates 10 bar.
Actuate the valve lever at full travel from 5 to 10 times to ensure the seating of the valve components.

4 - Check for tightness
Fully actuate regulating valve FN1. Manometer 1 should indicate 10 bar.
With the lever in disengaged brake position (0°), manometer 3 of port 2 (2) should indicate "zero"bar.
Apply neutral soap foam on the exhaust port (discharge) 3 (3) and check for leaks.
Set the valve lever to the applied brake position. Manometer 3 should indicate maximum pressure on port 2 (2).
Apply neutral soap foam on the exhaust port (discharge) 3 (3) and check for leaks.
Apply neutral soap foam around the valve, actuate the valve lever in its braking travel and check for leaks in the valve
In case of leaks, the valve must be uninstalled and repaired.
5 -Perform function check
Fully actuate valve FN1 until manometer 1 indicates 10 bar.
Actuate lever from 0° to approximately 15°. The pressure indication should start on manometer 3 of circuit 2 and increase gradually.
Continue actuating the lever up to approximately 30°. The pressure on circuit 2 indicated on manometer 3 should be approximately 3 bar.
Continue actuating the lever up to approximately 40°. In this position, the pressure on circuit 2 indicated on manometer 3 should increase momentarily from 5 to 7 bar and remains unchanged until the end of the lever travel (45°).
By releasing the lever, it should return automatically from applied brake position (45°) to the disengaged brake position (0°). Check the lever return behavior for the disengaged brake position.
Check pressure values in the lever release travel. The pressure values will act conversely in the release travel from 45° (applied brake position) to 0° (disengaged brake position).
Note: If mentioned values corresponding to circuit 2 (2) and indicated by manometer 3 are not achieved, dismantle the valve and add or remove the gaskets (6). If it's not enough, add or remove spacing washers (12).
The starting pressure is controlled by the shims (30).
Actuate the lever in the scaled pressure range between 15° and 40°. Assess the pressure scaling in three or more steps between 3 and 5 bar. The pressure should not increase in steps greater than 0.2 bar.
7 - Remove the valve from the test bench
De-pressurize the valve circuits, remove the angle measuring device and detach the quick connect fittings from the test bench.
Protect the valve connection ports with suitable plastic plugs.
