Readjust parking brake

 Adjust the parking brake on the adjuster (11h) if the handbrake lever can be pulled by more than 3 notches without producing an adequate braking effect.

Remove lower engine compartment covering

Remove bottom section of soundproofing capsule

Slacken lock nut (11i) on brake cable and turn back adjuster (11h)

Unscrew one wheel bolt on each rear wheel

 Light-alloy wheels must be removed.

Using a suitable screwdriver, turn the adjusting wheel (a) on the adjusting mechanism (33) until the brake shoes are applied and the rear wheel no longer turns

 Adjusting direction for applying brake shoes 
Right side: Turn adjusting wheel from front to rear.

Left side: Turn adjusting wheel from rear to front.

Turn back adjusting wheel (a) until the rear wheel turns freely

 When slackening the adjusting wheels ensure

that both sides are turned back by the same number of teeth (8-teeth) .

Screw in adjuster (11h) until the brake shoes are pressed firmly against the brake drum and the rear wheels cannot be spun

Unscrew adjuster (11h) until both rear wheels can be spun completely freely

 To check, the actuating force on the handbrake lever up to the 1st detent can be checked; it must be between

110 - 150 N.

Tighten lock nut (11i) against adjuster

Operate parking brake firmly several times.

Check clearance of rear wheels

Fit wheel bolts on rear wheels or install light-alloy wheels
