Release parking brake

Danger!

Risk of injury caused by pinching or crushing when working on springs or spring bodies that are under load

Use only approved tensioning devices; shield off hazard area if necessary.
Inspect special tools for damage and proper operation (visual inspection).
Wear protective gloves.

Unscrew the threaded rod (1) on the wheel brake cylinder (4) all the way

Operate parking brake

So that the spring actuator part of the wheel brake cylinder (4) is bled.

Identify the installation position of the brake drum (2) relative to the rear wheel hub

Unscrew bolts for fixing the brake drum (2) to the rear wheel hub

Remove lock washers from the wheel studs

Only carry out when the lock washers are fitted.

Remove brake drum (2)

To do this, screw two bolts into the threaded holes and press the brake drum (2) off the rear wheel hub. Use a suitable hoist to remove the brake drum (2).

Should the existing clearance not be adequate in order to remove the brake drum (2), the brake shoes must be backed off by twisting the bolt (3) counterclockwise.

Install

Install brake drum (2)

Observe the identified installation position of the brake drum (2) relative to the rear wheel hub.

Push lock washers onto the wheel studs

Only if fitted. Note correct installation position.

Screw in the bolts for fixing the brake drum (2) to the rear wheel hub
