Risk of poisoning caused by swallowing brake fluid. Risk of injury caused by brake fluid coming into contact with skin and eyes.

Pour brake fluid only into suitable and appropriately marked containers. Wear protective clothing and eye protection when handling brake fluid.

Check threaded connection of brake line (6) for color coding

 Installation: Mark the brake line (6) accordingly. Refer to:

Remove brake drum

Remove clamping springs (4) from brake shoes using pliers and detach retaining pins (3)



Unscrew nut (7) securing brake line (6) to wheel brake cylinder (1)

 Collect brake fluid which runs out in a suitable container.

Seal opening of wheel brake cylinder (1) and brake line (6) using suitable plugs.



Remove bolt (5) from wheel brake cylinder (1)



Carefully lift off wheel brake cylinder (1)

 Do not allow brake fluid to get on the brake linings as brake fluid damages the brake linings.

Clean brake carrier plate (2)

Remove brake line (6)

Only if initial color coding testing makes color coding.
