Remove/install front axle brake disk

Checking

Check lining thickness of brake pads and condition of brake disks.



 If the brake pads are worn down beyond the permissible wear limit, the web between the sealing groove and dust cap may be damaged,
for this reason 

Inspect brake system for leaks with pressure tester.

Remove/install

Remove front axle brake caliper (3).

 Do not kink or stretch brake hose.

 Fasten brake caliper (3) to suspension strut with brake hose connected.

Unscrew bolt (2)

 Installation: Install new bolt (2).



Remove brake disk (1)

 Installation: Brake disks (1) must only be replaced in pairs. Lightly grease seat of brake disc (1) with MB long-term grease.

Install in the reverse order

 Danger!

Risk of accident when commissioning the vehicle due to a lack of braking effect when the service brake is operated for the first time after repair work

Before starting engine, actuate brake pedal several times until the pressure is built up and maintained in the brake system.

Operate brake pedal several times until the brake pads make contact with the brake discs (1) (firm resistance can be felt)
