Assemble brake caliper on rear axle

 Caution

Risk of poisoning from swallowing brake fluid. Risk of injury from skin and eye contact with brake fluid

Only pour brake fluid into suitable and appropriately marked containers. Wear protective clothing and eye protection when handling brake fluid.

Press in needle bearings (21).

 Observe installation depth of needle roller bearings (21), the needle roller bearings (21) must not contact the radial shaft sealing ring (15) and not contact the support disk (16).

Coat radial shaft sealing ring (15) with silicone grease and press in using  basic drift and  assembly tool.

 The silicone grease is included in the repair kit.

Lubricate eccentric shaft (20) on operating lever (14) with special fluid.

 The special fluid is included in the repair kit.

Slide in eccentric shaft (20) with operating lever (14).

Install the plunger (11), drive spindle (10), push spring (9), and spring cup (7).

Using a suitable pipe tool, press compression spring and spring retainer (7) together and install the retaining ring (8).

Install reset shaft (3) and shim (17) and secure with circlip (19).

Install adjusting spindle (2) and secure with lock washer (18).

Install seal rings (arrows).

Insert sealing rings (6) in the brake caliper halves.

 Replace seals (6).

Mount both brake caliper halves onto the  support.

Tighten bolts (arrows).  

 Install new screws (arrows).

Screw in vent valve (4).

Coat both pistons (5) and piston bores with silicone grease.

 The silicone grease is included in the repair kit.

Install the cover-side piston (5) by turning the adjusting spindle (2) until the piston groove still remains free.

 Hold piston (5) under pressure using  pusher tool.

Tighten nut (22)   .

 The nut (22) must be replaced.

Install piston (5) at flange by turning the reset shaft (3) until the piston groove still remains free.

 Hold flange-side piston (5) under tension using  pusher tool.

Screw in screw plug for resetting shaft (3)   .

Half fill dust caps (1) with silicone grease and use  mount,  pusher tool and  press-in tool, to press onto stepped edge of piston bore.

 The silicone grease is included in the repair kit.

Pull out eccentric shaft (20) slightly.

Add special fluid between eccentric shaft (20) and needle bearing (21).

 The special fluid is included in the repair kit.

Install support disk (16) and circlip (13).

Press in sealing washer (12) using  thrust piece.

 Replace sealing washer (12).
