Jack up vehicle at rear axle and place on jack stands

Remove wheels

Release parking brake

Disconnect plug connections of brake wear indicators (3)

Remove anti-rattle spring (2)

 Installation: Use new bolts and new pad retaining springs (2).

Remove inner brake shoe (4)



Fix lower piston (8) with wedge (7) and press back upper piston (9) with resetting device (6)



Remove outer brake shoe (5)

 Installation: Apply a light coating of brake pad lubricant to the brake pad (5) on the contact surfaces where it contacts the side guideways and the piston within the caliper.

Fix upper piston (9) with wedge and press back lower piston (8) using adjusting mechanism

 Press in secondary piston in lower piston (8) with resetting key (10) and turn back clockwise all the way until the piston (8) fits flush with the dust boot. After this turn the secondary piston 1/2 revolution counterclockwise.

Clean brake parts and check for wear and damage

Install in the reverse order

Build up brake pressure

 Operate brake pedal several times.

Check brake fluid level in reservoir and correct if necessary
