Remove the wheels

Release the membrane cylinder

Release back the brake shoes until the "S" of the camshaft is positioned at zero

 Installation: Set the mechanical adjuster and control the automatic adjuster.

 On vehicles equipped with an automatic governor, a little effort is required to loosen the mechanical set screw of the governor, which will make a characteristic ratchet noise.

Mark the brake drum (2) and the wheel hub

 Installation: Note the mark made upon removal.

Tighten three disassembly screws (3) on the brake drum and remove them (2)

Check

Clean the brake drum (2) and linings

Check the lining and the brake drum (2) for wear

 If necessary, grind the brake drums (2) to a larger diameter and, if the maximum dimensions are exceeded, replace them.

 Always grind or replace the axle brake drums (both sides).
After grinding or replacing the brake drums (2), change the brake linings.

If wear is out of the specified value:



Replace the brake linings.
