Removing

Align the vehicle

 Align the vehicle horizontally in the longitudinal direction by loading with weights as appropriate.

Measure vehicle inclination across the door sills, e.g. using a spirit level

Detach front and rear lower engine compartment paneling

Vehicles with gasoline engine

Remove bottom sections of soundproofing

Screw in threaded bolts (07n)

 Model 203 without 4 MATIC and model 209:

Insert threaded bolts (07n) in the rear check bores ("k") for the suspension (07).

Depending on the vehicle remove the rear bolts from the rear engine crossmember (63) or remove the stop plugs for the threaded holes.

 Model 203 with 4 MATIC:

Screw the threaded bolts (07n) into the rear check bores ("k") for the hanger (07). Remove appropriate bolts (see picture) from rear engine crossmember (63) to do this.

Insert and adjust hanger (07)

Insert telescopic measuring rod (06) with connecting parts onto retaining bolt using bubble level (024b)



Measure

Carry out distance and comparison measurements on front and rear axles

 Use relevant measuring bolt and measuring tip (024) for the corresponding distance or comparison measurement.
