Remove/install

Remove axle drain plug (104).

 Drain the oil using clean container (105).

 Use suitable container (105) on the floor to prevent the oil from dropping.

 Installation: Fill the recommended oil in the rear axle housing.

 Rear axle oil - IR 440

Remove the propeller shaft (106) from differential end and retarder end.

Remove the differential breather hose (97) from wiring harness bunch.

 Disconnect the wheel speed sensor connectors (95) to the both sides.

Remove the compressed-air brake system lines (91) to the both sides brake chamber.

Remove the tags (90) on the compressed-air brake system lines and brackets.

Remove the both side axle shaft (3) from wheel hub by removing mounting bolt.

Remove the differential bottom mounting bolts (107) from the axle housing.

Remove the differential top side mounting bolts with bracket (109) from the axle housing.

 Differential top side mounting bolts with bracket to the axle housing

Place the drive head stand with support fixture (108) to the differential housing.

Remove differential remaining mounting bolts (107) from the axle housing.

 Installation: Apply sealant (111) in the drive head sitting surface in rear axle housing.

Detach the drive head (110) from the axle housing.

 Installation: Clean the drive head (110) sitting surface in rear axle housing using knife.

Install in the reverse order.
