1 Attach spreader (058) to the rear axle housing; to do this, tighten collar bolts (arrows) (guidance value: approx. 50 Nm).
P35.31-0244-01
2 Position measuring yoke (059) for expansion dimension measurement on spreader (058) and press against the two bolts from below.
Set dial gauge to "0" with 3 mm preload.
The stop pin (arrow) on the contact arm must touch the contact surface on the rear axle housing.
P35.31-0245-01
3 Turn the even surface (arrow) of the thrust piece to the opening of the locking ring (29).
4 Screw in the threaded spindle (058a) of the spreader (058) by hand until the thrust piece abuts the tapered roller bearing outer race.
P35.31-0246-01
5 Screw in the threaded spindle (058a) of the spreader (058) until the rear axle housing has reached a spread dimension of 0.10 to 0.13 mm.
Do not exceed the spread dimension when spreading. Otherwise the rear axle housing may become damaged.
6 Remove contact arm (059).
P35.31-0247-01
7 Remove left circlip (29) from rear axle housing using pliers (064)
8 Mark the left circlip (29).
9 Unclamp the rear axle housing and detach spreader (058).
