Remove/install
1 Remove outer race (8) of tapered roller bearing of the differential bearing from the portal housing using a pry bar .
Installation: Drive in outer race (8) up to the contact surface in the portal housing using a suitable drift.
2 Remove existing shim (9)
The rolling moment of the differential bearing is adjusted with the shim.
When using the shim (9) found beforehand during disassembly in our experience the required adjustment values result, however a check is imperative.

3 Drive the outer race (7) of the tapered roller bearing of the output gear out of the portal housing using a pry bar .
Installation: Drive in the outer race (7) up to the contact surface in the portal housing using a suitable drift.
4 Install in the reverse order.
