1 Differential assembly
2 Axle housing
3 Banjo bolt
4 Air line

1 | Remove both rear axle shafts | ||
2 | Detach propeller shaft from rear axle | ||
3 | Unscrew banjo bolt (3) from air line (4) to axle housing vent | Installation: Install new seals and clean contact surfaces. | |
4 | Mark installation position of differential assembly (1) relative to axle housing (2) | ||
5 | Affix differential assembly (1) to a suitable hoist | ||
6 | Detach differential assembly (1) from axle housing (2), pry off and lift off | Installation: - Observe installation position. - Clean sealing surfaces on axle housing (2) and differential assembly (1) and coat with sealant - Install new self-locking bolts and coat with sealant. - Observe the tightening procedure: First tighten two opposing bolts, then move in circular fashion to tighten the remaining bolts starting with one of the first two bolts tightened. | |
