1 Correct the position of ring gear relative to drive pinion by moving the ring gear axially.
The gear backlash is reduced by moving the ring gear axially towards the drive pinion (arrow 3).
The gear backlash is increased by moving the ring gear axially away from the drive pinion (arrow 4).
Depending on the movement direction of the ring gear a threaded ring is to be loosened, whilst the opposite threaded ring is tightened by the same amount. In the process it is to be ensured that, when adjusted, the threaded rings can still be adjusted.
