Check the frictional torque
1 Install the nut on the pinion shaft (3).
Do not install the yoke coupling to check the frictional torque.
2 Use a suitable tool to thread the pinion cage (4) onto the differential housing.
3 Tighten the pinion cage (4) to adjust the preload of the pinion bearings.
4 Check the preload by turning the pinion from the socket nut (2) and an appropriate torque wrench (1).
