Remove/install

Danger!

Risk of death caused by vehicle slipping or toppling off the lifting platform.

Align vehicle between columns of vehicle lift and position four support plates at vehicle lift support points specified by vehicle manufacturer.

 Installation

Only tighten nuts and bolts of chassis components when vehicle is in a ready-to-drive condition.

Raise vehicle with vehicle lift

Remove wheel.



Remove/install wheels, rotate if necessary

Detach twelve-point collar nut (40) from rear axle shaft (37)

Remove brake caliper and hang to one side with attached brake line

 The brake line may not be tensioned.

Remove brake shoes of parking brake (103).

Detach brake cable from wheel carrier (7)

Remove left rear rpm sensor (L6/3) from wheel carrier (7).



Detach tie rod (4) from wheel carrier (7)

Remove thrust arm (5) from wheel carrier (7)

Remove torque strut (3) from wheel carrier (7)

Detach camber strut (2) from wheel carrier (7).

 Installation: First position camber strut on wheel carrier.



Press rear axle shaft (37) out of wheel carrier (7)

 Do not damage pulse ring for rpm sensor and boot of rear axle shaft.

 If the rear axle shaft is difficult to remove:



Press out/pull in rear axle shaft at the wheel carrier.

Remove bolt from spring control arm (6) on wheel carrier (7)



Pull wheel carrier (7) upwards out of the spring control arm (6)

 Installation: When moving the wheel carrier in do not damage the rubber boot of the supporting joint.

Install in the reverse order

Adjust parking brake
