Checking
1 Fit dial gage holder (2) and dial gage (3) onto rear wheel hub (1).
2 Fit dial gage tip under preload on the axle tube on the end face.
3 Determine wheel bearing play by turning rear wheel hub (1) back and forward.
If the specification is not achieved, adjust wheel bearing play.
Aim for lower specified value if taper roller bearings are new.
Adjust
4 Slacken outer slotted nut and take off locking plate.
5 Set wheel bearing play by slackening or tightening inner slotted nut.
6 Insert locking plate and tighten outer slotted nut.
7 Check wheel bearing play again.
