Install the  dial indicator holder together with the  dial indicator with a little pre-load.

Set the dial gauge to "zero".

Determine the axial play of the wheel hubs' bearings, moving the wheel hub forward and back. .

Remove the outer slotted nut with the lock plate, and adjust the wheel hub end play

If the play value found is incorrect

Adjust

Tighten the inner slotted nut with the respective  claw wrench to the specified tightening torque. .  .

 Strike the wheel hub with a rubber hammer during the tightening procedure of the inner slotted nut for seating the bearings.

Loosen the inner slotted nut in the specified "A" angle.

Install the  dial indicator holder together with the  dial indicator.

Set the  dial indicator to "zero".

Determine the axial play of the wheel hubs' bearings, moving the wheel hub forward and back. .

Install a new lock plate, and tighten the outer slotted nut to the specified tightening torque using the respective  claw wrench. . 

Lock the lock plate by folding the tabs over the two slotted nuts, inner and outer.
