Install the dial indicator holder together with the dial indicator with a little pre-load.

Set the dial indicator to "zero".

Determine the end play of the wheel hubs' bearings, moving the wheel hub forward and backward. .

Remove the outer slotted nut with the lock plate, and adjust the wheel hub end play
If the play value found is not correct.

Tighten the inner slotted nut to the specified tightening torque using the respective claw wrench. Rear axles 743.0/1/2, 749.91/92/93 Rear axles 743.451
Apply blows to the wheel hub with a rubber hammer during the tightening procedure of the inner slotted nut, in order to have the bearings seated.

Unscrew the inner slotted nut in the specified "A" angle.

Install the dial indicator holder together with the dial indicator.

Set the dial indicator to "zero".

Determine the end play of the wheel hubs' bearings, moving the wheel hub forward and backward. .

Install a new lock plate and tighten the outer slotted nut to the specified tightening torque using the respective claw wrench. Rear axles 743.0/1/2, 749.91/2/3 Rear axles 743.451

Lock the lock plate by folding the tabs on the both slotted nuts, inner and outer.
