Press the tie rod joint (10a) from the stub axle unit (5)

Pull steering knuckle outwards and move front axle shafts (60) out of the front axle shaft flange

 Tie steering knuckle to one side using suitable wire.

Push out right front axle shaft (60)

 Do not damage rubber boots and rpm sensor rotor, check retaining ring (60a), replace if necessary.

Knock out left front axle shaft (60)

 Do not damage the plastic guard ring (60m), rubber boots and rpm sensor rotor.

Remove retaining ring (36) on intermediate shaft

 Installation: Ensure correct seating.

Pull intermediate shaft (34) out of front axle transmission

Check retaining ring (34a), replace if necessary.

Detach mounting support (58) to front axle transmission and engine mount carrier

 To prevent transmission fluid from escaping from the hole during removal.

Detach shield above boot on rack-and-pinion steering

Remove front axle transmission (50) to the rear

 When removing, press engine to the left.

 Installation: Check cap of breather (55) for correct seat.

Install in the reverse order

Check front axle transmission oil level and top up if necessary
