Remove/install

Remove corresponding front wheel.

Remove front engine compartment lining.

Remove guide vane from lower control arm (2).

Remove suspension strut (1) from lower control arm (2).

Unscrew screw (3) and remove torsion bar linkage (4) from lower control arm (2).

 Nut, torsion bar linkage to lower transverse control arm

Remove nut (7) and pry off supporting joint (8) from lower control arm (2).

 Installation: Replace nut (7).

Secure steering knuckle (9) against falling down.


Do not stretch, kink or crush the brake hose and the electrical lines.
Otherwise damage may occur.

Detach nuts (5), remove screws (6) and lower control arm (2).

 Removal: Mark position of adjusting shims.

 Installation: Replace screws (6) and nuts (5).

 Installation: Ensure that the new adjusting shims correspond to the old ones.

Check

Check lower control arm (2) and supporting joint (8) for wear and damage.

If there is a problem,



Replace lower control arm (2) or steering knuckle.

Install in the reverse order.



Measure

Perform chassis alignment.
