Remove

Remove front suspension strut (1).

While working on the front axle care must be taken to ensure that the surfaces of aluminum components do not get any scratches, cracks and notches.
Otherwise, the service life of the components will be reduced.

Unscrew screw (3) and detach holder of level control system from upper transverse control arm (2).

Unscrew screw (4) and detach holder of brake hose from upper transverse control arm (2).

4.1

Detach nut (7) and pry upper ball joint (8) off steering knuckle (9).

Remove screws (10), detach holder (12) with upper transverse control arm (2) from steering knuckle (9) and remove adjusting plate (11).

Secure steering knuckle (9) against tilting.


Do not tension, kink or crush brake hose and electrical lines.
Damage may occur otherwise.

Detach nuts (5), remove screws (6) and remove upper transverse control arm (2).


The transverse control arm brackets may only be detached from the bodyshell or the bodywork for repairs!
Otherwise, the threads on the frame may be damaged.



Check

Check upper transverse control arm (2) and upper ball joint (8) for damage.

If there is damage.



Replace upper transverse control arm (2).



Install

8

Install upper transverse control arm (2), screw in screws (6) and attach nuts (5).

Install new holder (12) with adjusting plate (11) on steering knuckle (9) and screw in screws (10).

Attach adjusting plate (11) and holder (12) to steering knuckle (9) and screw in screws (10).
