Remove/install



To remove/install the supporting ball joint the damper has to be installed or the spring removed.



Replace self-locking nuts and bolts.

Remove front wheel

Remove safety screw from brake disk and cover panel (arrow)



Unscrew nut from supporting ball joint



Screw thrust piece (044b) onto the ball pivot of the supporting joint



Press brake disk and brake disk cover panel outwards,

Push supporting ball joint with puller (044) out of steering knuckle

 if necessary, clean conical joint

Unscrew supporting ball joint nut (7b) from transverse control arm



Screw thrust piece (044a) onto the ball pivot of the supporting joint



Push supporting ball joint with puller (044) out of transverse control arm

 if necessary, clean conical joint

Check supporting joint

and replace if necessary
