Removing
1 Bend open lock plate.

2 Unscrew outer slotted nut with claw-type wrench.

3 Remove lock plate.
4 Unscrew inner slotted nut with claw-type wrench.

5 Remove thrust plate.
Install
6 Fit thrust plate.

7 Tighten inner slotted nut with claw-type wrench by continuously turning the drum hub.
Observe tightening torque.
8 Turn back inner slotted nut and then tighten until it touches the thrust washer without play. Then turn back 1/8 turn.

9 Insert new locking plate.

10 Fit outer slotted nut and tighten using claw-type wrench.
Observe tightening torque.

11 Secure outer slotted nut by bending over the locking plate.
Do not bend over the locking plate until after the wheel bearing play has been checked and adjusted.
