Remove thrust plate (1) from elastomer bearing (17d) with puller (2).
For vehicles with thrust plates (1).
Installation: Ensure that the thrust plate (1) and bush of the elastomer bearing (17d) form a level surface or are flush after pressing on the thrust plate (1) (arrow).
Model 215 Model 220 (except 220.08/18/87) except code 979 (Special protection MB Guard) except code Z07 (Top protection) Model 230 except code P99 (Special model "AMG Black Series") In the case of repair, the elastomer bearing (17d) (without thrust plate (1)) is replaced by an elastomer bearing (17d) (with thrust plate (1)).

Transfer alignment mark to new elastomer bearing (17d).

Position chamfer of elastomer bearing (17d) on chamfer (arrow) of the spring control arm (17).
The elongated hole of the elastomer bearing (17d) must align with the longitudinal axis of the spring control arm (17).

Press in elastomer bearing (17d) using press out/in tool (011, 012) until the collar of the press out/in tool (011) abuts the spring control arm (17).
In the case of repair, the elastomer bearing (17d) (without thrust plate (1)) is replaced by an elastomer bearing (17d) (with thrust plate (1)).
When pressing in, make sure that the elastomer bearing (17d) does not twist or turn.
