Remove/install

 Danger!

Risk of death caused by vehicle slipping or toppling off of the lifting platform.

Align vehicle between columns of vehicle lift and position four support plates at vehicle lift support points specified by vehicle manufacturer.

 Installation: Tighten nuts and bolts of chassis components only when vehicle is in the ready-to-drive condition.

Raise vehicle with vehicle lift

Remove front wheel



Remove/install wheels, rotate if necessary

Remove lower engine compartment paneling

Detach cross strut (29) from steering knuckle



Remove bolt (2)

 The bolt (2) must not be twisted. Counterhold bolt (2) when unfastening the nut. When the repair kit is fitted, otherwise the fixing lugs for camber adjustment in the rubber mount will be sheared off.

Using assembly lever, lever cross strut (29) out of the front axle carrier (1)



Checking

Inspect transverse link (29) for visible signs of damage of deformation.

Replace cross strut (29) if necessary.

Check rubber mounts of cross strut (29) for damage

If necessary, replace rubber mount, see:


