Remove/install

Raise vehicle and support at vehicle frame.

Remove wheels.

Detach compressed-air lines (2) from left and right brake cylinders.

Detach interwheel differential lock compressed-air line (3) from differential lock.

Expose bleed line (5) and disconnect at connection.

 Do not detach from differential housing.

Disconnect electrical connector (4) from 1st front axle interwheel differential lock indicator switch (S10).

Disconnect electrical connector (6) from front axle temperature sensor (B75).

Disconnect electrical connectors from left and right brakepad wear sensors and expose.

Disconnect electrical connectors from left and right rpm sensors and expose.

Detach propeller shaft from front axle.

 Support propeller shaft.

Detach drag link (7) from steering arm.

 Nut, drag link to pitman arm/steering arm

Remove nuts (9) of spring U-bolts (10).

 Nut, spring U-bolt to front axle

Lower front axle and pull out from under the vehicle.

 Installation: Lightly grease the mounting holes for the center bolts in the front axle. When raising the front axle, guide the center bolts into the mounting holes.
