Tilt cab | Overview - Tilt cab to repair position and tilt it back to normal position | ||
Expose line train (7) of brake wear indicator, ABS-line and bleed lines | Installation: Replace cable tie. | ||
Separate electrical connectors (8) of brake wear indicator and ABS line | Mark the electrical connectors (8) relative to one another. | ||
Installation: Observe markings. | |||
Detach and expose bleed lines with bracket on left and right hub reduction gear | Installation: Replace cable tie. | ||
Detach and expose bleed line on axle centerpiece | Installation: Replace cable tie. | ||
Remove cable ties of bleed line on front axle | Installation: Replace cable tie. | ||
Detach and expose compressed air line of front axle cross-axle differential lock | Installation: Replace cable tie. | ||
Detach compressed air line of service brake system on left and right ABS control valve (2) respectively | Front axle 737.58/59 | ||
Seal connections with a suitable stop plug. | |||

Detach propeller shaft from front axle drive flange | Fasten propeller shaft up out of the way. | ||

Detach drag link from steering knuckle arm | Remove/install drag link | ||
Fasten drag link up out of the way. | |||
Detach both dampers (3) on front axle | Nut/bolt, shock absorber to front axle | ||
Detach left and right stabilizer bar link (4) on the front axle | Remove left and right spacer washers. Remove the left and right pilot bushings on the axle outwards towards the wheel side. Replace pilot bushings in the event of wear. | ||
Bolt, stabilizer bar to front axle | |||
Support front axle with jack under axle center piece | |||
Detach left and right trailing arm (5) on the front axle | Turn front axle with jack. Remove left and right spacer washers. Remove pilot bushings on both sides of front axle and replace if worn. | ||
Bolt, trailing arm to front axle | |||
Remove transverse control arm (6) | Bolt, transverse control arm to front axle | ||
Lift vehicle slightly at the front plate with a crane and roll away carefully backwards | With the aid of a second fitter. | ||
Put down vehicle on support stands under frame | |||
Install in the reverse order | |||
Inspect compressed air lines for leaks | |||
Check function of differential lock | |||
Correct front axle oil level, correct if necessary | |||
