Risk of death from lowering vehicle when working between wheels and body. Risk of injury from pinching or crushing when working on the air suspension.

Testing and repair work between the wheel and wheel arch or in the wheel well should only be performed if the vehicle is secured using suitable support fixtures to prevent it from lowering.
Adjustment operations should only be performed from underneath the vehicle.
Use only suitable support fixtures to secure the vehicle frame or vehicle axles in order to prevent them from lowering.
If necessary, additionally use suitable support fixtures in order to prevent other moving vehicle parts that are in the working area from lowering, or use suitable retaining devices to prevent these parts from moving suddenly and without warning.
Secure areas with moving vehicle parts against unauthorized access.

Remove/install

Chock the rear wheels and apply the parking brake

Support the front axle (1)

 In this point, suspend the vehicle and support the side member on appropriate bearing brackets, safely placed so that the tension bars are not forced and allow its removal.

Support the shock absorbers (4) bracket on both sides of the front axle (1)


Use an appropriate hydraulic jack and support properly or, firmly tighten the shock absorbers support (4) to the structure in order to make it easier to remove the fastening screws (2).
This procedure prevents that all suspension components (suspension support, bellows, stabilizer, tension bars) are supported by the shock absorbers.

Remove the front wheels

 After a test drive, retighten the wheel lock nuts.

Disconnect the brake flexible hose (5) on both sides

 Seal the flexible hoses ends to avoid the ingress of dirt .

Disconnect the sensor cable from ABS on both sides

Remove the level (20) regulating valve rod (19)

Release the stabilizer bar from the front shaft (1)

Remove the steering bar (17) from the steering arm (18)

Release the nuts (10) and screws (11) from the tension bars (9, 12, 14) at the vehicle structure

 At this moment, the tension bars are fastened to the front shaft through the bearing shoulders supports (7, 8) and the pin (13).

 Replace the self-locking nuts.

Release the screws (16) from the lock washers (15) of the tension bars and remove them

Release and remove the nuts (6) and the screws (2) that fasten the shock absorbers (4) support to the front shaft (1)

 Make sure that both the front shaft and the shock absorbers supports are properly supported.

 Replace the self-locking nuts.

Lower the front shaft (1) and carefully remove it

Installation in reverse order

 After the axle is installed, the vehicle should be subjected to a full turning angle and alignment adjustment.
