Chock the rear wheels and apply the parking brake

 Danger

Risk of death from lowering vehicle when working between wheels and body. Risk of injury from pinching or crushing when working on the air suspension.

Testing and repair work between the wheel and wheel arch or in the wheel well should only be performed if the vehicle is secured using suitable support fixtures to prevent it from lowering.
Adjustment operations should only be performed from underneath the vehicle.
Use only suitable support fixtures to secure the vehicle frame or vehicle axles in order to prevent them from lowering.
If necessary, additionally use suitable support fixtures in order to prevent other moving vehicle parts that are in the working area from lowering, or use suitable retaining devices to prevent these parts from moving suddenly and without warning.
Secure areas with moving vehicle parts against unauthorized access.

Lift the vehicle from the front axle and support it on appropriate trestles placed under the stringers behind the front springs bracket, so that the wheels are free

Remove the front wheels

 After traveling the first 50 to 100 km, retighten the wheel lock nuts.

Loosen the dampers from the bottom

Remove on both sides the flexible brake hose and plug its end in order to prevent debris from getting in

Remove the steering column from the steering arm

Remove the nuts from spring leaf clamps and remove the clamps

 Before starting removing the axle, assemble the EE - 023 device on the beam.

 Installation: Apply sealant and lubricate the thread of the spring leaf clamps.
After traveling the first 50 to 100 km, retighten the clamp nuts.

Lower the front axle, wash, clean and place it on an assembly support

 EE - 020.

 Installation: Grease the guide bolt and the hole of the support base on the beam.
Observe with attention that the spring pack guide bolt seats correctly in the locating hole of the support base on the axle beam.

Disconnect the connecting bar from the connecting arms

Install in reverse order

 After the axle is installed, the vehicle should be subjected to a full turning angle and alignment adjustment.
