Chock the rear wheels and apply the parking brake

Loosen the front wheel lock nuts

 Danger

Risk of death from lowering vehicle when working between wheels and body. Risk of injury from pinching or crushing when working on the air suspension.

Testing and repair work between the wheel and wheel arch or in the wheel well should only be performed if the vehicle is secured using suitable support fixtures to prevent it from lowering.
Adjustment operations should only be performed from underneath the vehicle.
Use only suitable support fixtures to secure the vehicle frame or vehicle axles in order to prevent them from lowering.
If necessary, additionally use suitable support fixtures in order to prevent other moving vehicle parts that are in the working area from lowering, or use suitable retaining devices to prevent these parts from moving suddenly and without warning.
Secure areas with moving vehicle parts against unauthorized access.

Lift the vehicle by the front axle and support it on appropriate trestles placed under the stringers, behind the front springs bracket, so that the wheels remain free

 Do not lift the vehicle by supporting the jack on the center of the front axle beam.

Remove the front wheels

 After traveling the first 50 to 100 km, retighten the wheel lock nuts.

Remove the brake hose from the RH and LH wheels and cover the end of the hose to prevent dirt from entering

Disconnect the steering column from the steering arm

Loosen the lower anchor of the dampers on the front axle

Support the front axle using an appropriate device, remove the nuts from the leaf spring clamps (4) and remove the clamps (3)

 Installation: Apply a lock to the thread of the leaf spring clamps and lubricate it with grease.
Retighten the spring leaf clips on the next vehicle maintenance service.

Lower the front axle, wash it, clean it and place it on an assembly bracket

 Use a suitable assembling.

 Installation: Lubricate the guide screw of the leaf spring and the fitting hole on the support base on the front axle beam.
Make sure that the guide screw of the leaf spring fits properly in the locating hole on the support base on the front axle beam.

Disconnect the connecting bar from the connecting arms

Install in reverse order

 After installing the axle, adjust the steering angle and the steering geometry angles.
