5 Base
3 Spring
4 Auxiliary spring
| Remove/install | ||
1 | Remove rear axle shafts | There are no requirements for replacing chassis components in pairs but we recommend.
2 | Detach shock absorber (1) from axle tube (2) | Support axle tube (2) using a suitable lifting device.
| |||
3 | Take out rear axle spring (3) | Installation: Align the start of the spring at the bottom at the axle tube below 10° in relation to the intended center line of the spring cups (see picture A). Pay attention to correct positioning of the spring (3), otherwise there is the possibility of suspension noises.
4 | Remove auxiliary spring (4) together with support (5) | Installation: Remove any spacer washers or load group washers. Only the rubber disk 6 mm may remain under the springs. If washers for compensating spring tolerances are fitted on the new springs, then these must be installed. When replacing springs ensure that due to different suspension versions the same replacement parts (same wheel offset numbers) or springs of the same identification (blue = 30 N/mm, yellow = 25 N/mm) are installed again.
5 | Install in the reverse order |
