Example of damages: Chassis torsion
1 Determine the points of the presses:
- Support (4) (fixed bearing) at rear left positioned on the ending cross member
- Support (2) (fixed bearing) at front right.
- Press (1) at front left.
- Press (3) at rear right on the ending cross member.
2 Position the cross member of the chassis alignment device so that presses (1 and 3) can be fastened at the established points and the chains can be fixed to a chassis cross member as a support (2 and 4).
Ensure that the cross member of the device is fastened.
3 Install the presses (1 and 3) and the supports (2 and 4).
Position the presses so that the stroke is not too large.
In a too large stroke there is the risk of inclining.
4 Press alternately with the presses, let the vehicle chassis seat and slacken the presses, measure the chassis.
Repeat this work step until aligning the chassis.
