1 Place dial indicator and steel straightedge on the bearing seat of the inner tapered roller bearing and record the basic dimension.

2 Place any thickness shim under the tapered roller bearing and establish the deviation from the basic dimension recorded.
3 Determine appropriate shim for the axial play.

4 Install oil pump.
Insert shim (1) determined.

5 Press in tapered roller bearing outer ring from inner tapered roller bearing with press-in tool.

6 Install output shaft (2).

Select thickness of shim so that play is present in each case.

10 Install suitable sleeve approx. 40mm and nut and pull onto block.

11 Measure permissible play.
Example: measured play 0.30 mm
Spring preload 0.10 mm
Removal = 0,40 mm
0.10 mm pre-tension corresponds to a friction value of 1.0 Nm
