Remove

Shift automatic transmission (3) to neutral position.

Remove front bumper.

Disconnect electrical connector (8) from outside temperature sensor.

Remove left air duct segment (9).

 To do so, unclip left air duct segment (9) at catch hooks.

Remove holder (4) from vehicle front side.

 Remove screw (5) to do this.

Remove return line (1r) and feed line (1v) from automatic transmission oil cooler (2).

 Collect escaping automatic transmission fluid in suitable container to determine quantity of automatic transmission fluid.
Plug openings.

Remove lower engine compartment paneling.

Remove brackets (6).

 To do this, remove bolts (7).

Remove return line (1r) and feed line (1v) from automatic transmission (3).

 Collect escaping automatic transmission fluid in suitable container to determine quantity of automatic transmission fluid.
Plug openings.

Remove return line (1r) and feed line (1v).

 To do so, remove return line (1r) and feed line (1v) from attachment points on radiator package (arrows) and remove towards rear.
Aid of helper required.



Install

Install return line (1r) and feed line (1v).

 To do so, insert return line (1r) and feed line (1v) from rear, move to installation position and attach to attachment points on radiator package (arrows).
Aid of helper required.

Attach return line (1r) and feed line (1v) to automatic transmission (3).

Attach return line (1r) and feed line (1v) to automatic transmission oil cooler (3).

Attach holders (6) to vehicle underside.

 Turn in screws (7) to do this.

Attach holder (4) to vehicle front side.

 To do so, turn in screw (5).

Install left air duct segment (9).

Connect electrical connector (8) to outside temperature sensor.

Fill automatic transmission (3) with automatic transmission fluid.

 Only install engine compartment paneling after leak tightness test.



Check

 Warning

Risk of accident from vehicle starting off by itself when engine running. Risk of injury (bruises and burns) resulting from working on the engine while it is being started or when it is running.

Secure vehicle to prevent it from starting off by itself. Wear closed and snug-fitting work clothes. Do not touch hot or rotating parts.

Perform engine test run and check automatic transmission (3) and automatic transmission oil cooler (2) in area of return line (1r) and feed line (1v) for leak tightness.

 Visual inspection only.

Install front bumper.
