Disassemble

1

Remove the transmission from vehicle.

 Place the transmission using special tool mounting bracket and transmission assembly stand.

Remove grub screw (160) from transmission front casing using allen key.

 Shift the lever to neutral position.

Unscrew the shift housing unit mounting bolts (161) and remove shift shaft unit (162) from transmission.

Remove bearing bush (163) from gearshift shaft unit.

 Hold the shift shaft unit (162) on the bench vise before removing bearing bush.

Remove shift shaft (164) and pressure pin (107) from gearshift shaft unit.



Clean

Clean bearing bush (163) and selector shaft (165) with thinner.

 Allow them to dry completely.



Check

7

Remove gearshift linkage from the shift lever.

 Ensure the gearshift lever is in neutral position.

Measure the dimension from shift housing to shift lever cover as shown in the illustration.

If the measured value exceeds the specified value 70 mm,



follow the removal, cleaning and installation procedure in the document.



Assemble

9

Install bearing bush (163) into shift shaft with pressure pin.


Apply sealant on bearing bush threads and tighten bearing bush.
Ensure sealant is applied on around the threads.

 Allow the assembly to cure for minimum 1 hour.

Clean shift housing unit seating face and housing mating face.

Install shift housing unit (166) to transmission.


Check whether the gearshift lever is in neutral position while installing shift shaft.
Ensure that the shift shaft grub screw seating (167) is facing upward.

Loctite 5203 sealant

Install grub screw (160) to transmission front casing and tighten.

 Ensure grub screw seats properly onto the shift shaft hole.

Install and tighten the shift housing unit mounting bolts (161).

 Check proper gear engagement by shifting gears manually.

Measure the dimension from shift housing to shift lever cover.

 Refer the above checking procedure.

Install the transmission to vehicle.
