| Disassemble/assemble | ||
1 | Remove shift mechanism | ||
2 | Clamp shift housing (1) with gearshift shaft (9) into vise | Use soft vise jaws. | |
3 | Detach locking pawl (2) from shift shaft (9) | ||
4 | Remove stop plug(3) | Pry off grommet (3) using suitable tool. | |
5 | Remove pin (4) | Drive out pin (4) using suitable tool. | |
6 | Clamp shift housing (1) with shift shaft (9) | Use soft vise jaws. | |
7 | Remove selector lever gate (5) | To do so, remove bolt (6) and remove selector lever gate (5) with washer (7) and cover (8). | |
Assembly: Install selector lever gate (5) in neutral position (arrow). The selector lever gate (5) must be aligned parallel to the shift shaft (9). | |||
8 | Pull selector shaft (10) using a suitable two-arm puller out of shift housing (1) | ||
9 | Remove selector finger (11) and washer (12) | ||
10 | Remove sealing ring (13) | Pry radial shaft sealing ring (13) out of shift housing (1) using a suitable tool. | |
Assembly: Replace the sealing ring (13). | |||
11 | Pull shift shaft (9) out of shift housing (1) | ||
12 | Clamp shift shaft (9) into vise | Use soft vise jaws. | |
13 | Using hot air blower, heat shift shaft (9) in area of rigging screw (20) | ||
14 | Remove tensioning screw (20) | Assembly: Clean thread and coat completely with thread locking compound. | |
Quick-acting adhesive, Loctite 270 | |||
15 | Pull thrust bolt (21) out of gearshift shaft (9) | ||
16 | Clamp thrust bolt (21) into vise | Use soft vise jaws. | |
17 | Remove retaining ring (14) and detent bushing (15) | The detent bushing (15) is spring-loaded. | |
Assembly: Install new retaining ring(14). | |||
18 | Remove cones (16) and stop bushing (17) | ||
19 | Remove springs (18, 19) and rigging screw (20) | ||
20 | Assemble in the reverse order |
