Detach circlip (2) from countershaft (1)

 Assemble:

Measure the axial play between the tapered roller bearing inner race and circlip using the feeler gauge and, if necessary, take the appropriate circlip.

Detach rear tapered roller bearing (3) of countershaft (1)

To do so, clamp front countershaft in vise.
 Use aluminum soft vise jaws.

 Assemble:

Heat up the rear tapered roller bearing to approx. 120 °C and then drive in.

Press off constant countershaft gear (4), with front tapered roller bearing (5), 5th gear countershaft gear (6) and 3rd/4th gear countershaft gear (7) off countershaft (1) in succession

 Assemble:

- Heat up the countershaft gears to max. 180 °C,

- the front tapered roller bearing to approx. 120 °C and

- drive in the components.

Clean all parts, check for wear and replace parts if necessary

Assemble in the reverse order
