Remove/install 2nd gear toothed gear

Removing

1  Fit retaining collar (1) and both  half rings (2) on the sliding sleeve for the 1st./2nd. gear.

2 Insert an adapter (5) between the main shaft journal and the puller (6), and fit the locking bolt onto the  retaining collar (1).

3  Slide the retaining collar (1) over the two  half rings (2), and use the puller (6) to detach the sliding sleeve for the 1st./2nd. gear, the 2nd. gear toothed gear with synchronizer ring (3), thrust plate and the bearing bushing of the needle cage for the 3rd. gear's toothed gear (4).

 When doing so wrap a rag around the sliding sleeve for the 1st./2nd. gear to prevent the push springs, balls and pressure parts from falling down.

Install

4 Slide needle cage for toothed gear on 2nd. gear (7) onto main shaft (8).

5 Use transmission oil to lubricate needle cage for toothed gear on 2nd. gear (7).

6 Fit toothed gear for 2nd. gear with synchronizer ring (3) onto main shaft (8).
