Disassemble

Remove tapered roller bearing (2, 3)

For tapered roller bearing (2):

 Gripper

Remove circlip (4)

Press splitter group gear (5) off countershaft (1)

Press 2nd gear wheel (6) off
countershaft (1)



Assemble

 Danger!

Risk of injury to skin and eyes caused by handling hot or glowing objects.

Wear safety gloves, protective clothing and safety glasses, if necessary.

Heat 2nd gear wheel (6) and splitter group gear (5) to max. 180 °C and push onto
countershaft (1) in sequence

 While the two gear wheels are cooling down, press them on further using a workshop press.
When the two gear wheels have cooled fully, they must lie against each other with zero clearance.

Install circlip (4).

Heat tapered roller bearing (3) to max. 100 °C and install

 While the bearing is cooling, drive on the inner race of the tapered roller bearing (3) further so that it has zero clearance.

Heat tapered roller bearing (2) to max. 100 °C and install

 While the bearing is cooling, drive on the inner race of the tapered roller bearing (2) further so that it has zero clearance.
