1 Install clamping plate (2).
2 Screw in bolts (3) on clamping plate (2) to position
"G 210-G 280" and tighten evenly to 15 Nm.
Tighten the bolts (3) on the clamping plate (2) in at least two stages.
3 Crank drive shaft forward and backward several times so that tapered roller bearings settle.
The splitter group must be engaged.
4 Tighten bolts (3) on clamping plate (2) evenly again to 15 Nm.
Repeat the tightening procedure until the tightening torque of 15 Nm no longer changes.
5 Loosen bolts (3) on clamping plate (2) and then tighten slightly by hand.

6 Using a depth gauge, measure dimension (E) from end face of
bearing outer race (6) of countershaft to contact surface on front part of transmission housing.
Measure the dimension (E) at two opposite points and determine the mean value.

7 Remove circlip (8) from countershaft brake housing (7).
8 Using an outside micrometer, measure thickness (D) of circlip (8).
W26.30-1016-01
9 Using a depth gauge, measure dimension (F) from contact surface of countershaft brake housing (7) to contact surface of circlip.
W26.30-1018-01
10 Determine thickness of shim for countershaft.
Thickness of shim = Dimension (F) - Dimension (D) - Dimension (E)
The aim is to eliminate all play.
11 Install circlip (8) in countershaft brake housing (7).
12 Remove clamping plate (2).
