Remove retaining ring (11)

Detach tapered roller bearing (10)

 Use thrust piece 03 from the  disassembling kit.

Remove gear for constant speed gear 1 (8) together with synchronizer ring (7) and needle roller bearing (9)

Remove annular spring (5) and synchronizer cone (6) from synchronizer ring (7)

Remove baffle plate (4)

Remove retaining ring (3) and oil pipe (2)



Check

Check condition of annular spring (5) and synchronizer cone (6)

If there are problems



Replace annular spring (5) or synchronizer cone (6).



Assemble

 Warning

Risk of injury. Skin or eye injuries may result when handling hot or glowing objects.

Wear protective gloves, protective clothing and safety glasses, if necessary.

Insert oil pipe (2) into drive shaft (1) and fit circlip (3)

Install air flow sensor plate (4)

 The rubber lip of the disk (4) must point outwards.

Oil annular spring (5) and synchronizer cone (6)

Insert annular spring (5) into synchronizer cone (6) and mount onto synchronizer ring (7)

Oil needle roller bearing (9)

Slide gear for constant mesh gear 1 (8) together with synchronizer ring (7) and needle roller bearing (9) onto drive shaft (1)

Heat tapered roller bearing (10) to approx. 80 °C and install

 After it has cooled down, adjust the inner race of the tapered roller bearing (10) axially until it is seated with zero tolerance.

Install retaining ring (11) and check play of retaining ring (11)

Axial play of retaining rings

If this is not the case



Install retaining ring (11) of different thickness.
