1 Insert main shaft (8) together with the attached shift rails (5) in the rear section of the transmission housing.

Ensure the correct merging of the shift rails (5) in the shift rails guideway (arrow).

2 Coat cylindrical roller bearing (22) with long-life grease.

3 Slide cylindrical roller bearing (22) into correct position on the countershaft (9).

4 Coat the tapered roller bearing (10, 11) with long-life grease.

Only transmission 711.620/621 with power take-off (code N05, N07)

5 Attach adjusting disks (18) to countershaft (9) with grease before inserting.

6 Insert countershaft (9).

7 Install centering device .

8 Position installing tool together with the rear section of the transmission housing and the inserted shafts under the press stamp.

9 Equip press with a suitable stamping attachment.

10 Press in main shaft (8) up to the axial contact surface.

During the pressing in process, pay attention that the shift rails stay upright, do not get caught in the shift rails guideway and do not tilt

Only if transmission 711.605 fitted

Ensure the correct installation of the countershaft cylindrical roller bearing in the bearing outer race.

11 After pressing in, check that the thrust plate (arrow) of the main shaft lies axially on the main shaft bearing. Otherwise press again.
