1 Remove the bearing cover (2) in the gearbox front housing.
2 Remove the adjustment washer (3).
3 Pass the threaded holes for the micro-encapsulated bolts (1) in the gearbox front housing.
4 Clean the sealing surface (4) in the gearbox front housing.

5 Install the tensioning device with the pressure part on the taper roller bearings external track and assemble it in the position shown in the figure.
If necessary, previously unscrew the tensioning bolt (5).
6 Tighten the tensioning bolt (5) with the prescribed torque. At the same time, turn the main shaft so that the taper roller bearings can seat.

7 Measure the protruded part “A” of the taper roller bearing external track in relation to the bearing cover sealing, for that use a depth caliper ruler.
8 Check the bearing nominal play in the table and compare it with the protruded part “A” measured in the previous item and determine the thickness required for the adjustment washer.
Adjustment washers are provided in the thickness of 2.20 to 2.95 mm, with increments of 0.05 mm.

9 Release the tensioning bolt and remove the device.
10 Apply a sealing product in the bearing cover (2).
Take care so that the cover sealing product does not penetrate in the oil channel (indicated by the arrow).

11 Fit the adjustment washer (3) in the determined thickness.
12 Install the bearing cover (2).
Observe the assembling position! The groove existent in the bearing cover must be faced to the lower part.
Use new micro-encapsulated bolts (1).
Check and apply the determined torque to the bolts, .
