Measure the wear limit of the synchronizing rings
Check the wear limit for the synchronizing rings by placing a feeler gauge the synchronizing ring (1) and the synchronizing body (2). If the measurement is smaller than the specified, replace the ring.
Measure the synchronizing clearance (boxes 718.053/718.080)
Check the synchronizing clearance positioning a feeler gauge between the synchronizing body and the synchronizing ring. If the play obtained is smaller than the specified, another synchronizing ring should be used.
