Prepare for the measuring
1 | Put the tensioning plates (1, 2) on the drive shaft and counter shaft . |
2 | Tighten the bolts (3) in the tensioning plates (1, 2) evenly with the torque wrench in the position (G 210 - G 280). . |
Tighten the bolts (3) at least two turns. |
3 | Turn several times to both directions the drive shaft, in order to make the bearings seat. |
For this, the splitter group must be engaged. |
4 | Repeat work steps 2 and 3 twice so that the bearings seat properly. |
5 | Loosen the bolts (3) and tighten them manually. |
Do not use tools to tighten them. |

Calculate the compensating washer for the input shaft
6 | With the depth caliper ruler, measure the bearing external ring (4) from the main shaft to the housing = measurement “A”. |
Determine the “A” dimension at two opposite points and establish the mean value. |
W26.50-1090-01
7 | Using the depth caliper ruler measure the baring external surface to the internal support surface in the main shaft cover (5) = measurement “B”. |
Determine the dimension “B” in two opposite points and calculate the mean value. |
W26.50-1091-01
8 | Calculate the compensating washer for the bearing of the input shaft. |
“B” dimension - “A” dimension = “C” dimension. |
The aim must always be a preliminary tension of 0.05 mm. |
The compensating washer to be installed for the preliminary tension indicated in the table, has to be thicker than the “C” dimension. |

Calculate the compensating washer for the input shaft
9 | Using a depth caliper measure the bearing (6) outer ring from the countershaft to the case separation surface = measure “E”. |
Determine the dimension “E” in two opposite points and establish the mean value. |

10 | Remove the safety lock (8) from the counter shaft brake cover (7). |
11 | Measure the safety lock (8) thickness using a micrometer, measure (D). |
W26.30-1017-01
12 | In the counter shaft brake cover (7) measure the cover external surface depth to the safety lock support surface, measurement (F) with a caliper ruler. |
W26.30-1016-01
13 | Calculate the compensating washer for the bearings of the counter shaft. |
Measurement (F) - measurement (D) - measurement (E) = measurement “H”. |
The obtainment of a clearance of 0.0 mm must be the goal. |
The compensating washer to be used must correspond to the dimension “H”. |
The compensating washer may diverge from the adjustment tolerance indicated in the table. |
14 | Install the safety lock (8) in the counter shaft brake cover (7). |
15 | Remove the tensioning plates. |
